Code Changes and Code Confusion
There are continuous changes to the ABSA regulations and the ASME codes. Dealing with these changes can be frustrating. It is sometimes difficult to understand the intent of these changes. As a result the changes are sometimes misinterpreted by well-meaning EPC and fabricators. And often the EPC and fabricators do not have the same opinions. This leads to costly discussions during fabrication. How do you solve that?
You may be lucky. There may be an ASME interpretation. But ASME interpretations have brief questions and the reply is often YES or NO. And remember that ABSA does not accept all ASME interpretations.
